A coming-of-age story that pierces the soul and heals the spirit, this is the tale of the future leader of the Amazon women warriors. Rain must hold fast to her inner warrior, but she is startled and mystified by the first stirrings of mercy towards the enemy.
I give this book a five out of five. It is a book that I don’t normally read. It’s different than the YA books that I normally read. Its one of my favorite books and I have read it about four or five times. The story is different, and the writing style is different that what I normally read. The story is told completely in first person and there isn’t a lot of dialogue. The main character is mostly telling the story of her life from the tragic beginnings all the way to the end. Every reader can connect to the feelings she has of not feeling loved and feeling alone even though the story takes place in a different time period and she is a queen-to-be and not a “regular” person. I would recommend this book to any one that wants a light, quick and easy read to break up their reading.
