Goodreads Summary:

When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illéa to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone.

Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairytale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible—and more important—than she ever imagined.

Review:

This book is another five out of five stars. This series as a whole was so good. I wish I had read them sooner. I love that the first three books were about her parents and how they fell in love and then the last two are about Eadlyn and how she goes about her own selection. Eadlyn reminds me of her mother a lot. She is a very stubborn person but  she is very passionate about her people and wanting to be the best she can be for them. All of the characters are amazing and well developed. They are all really well rounded and they surprise you at every turn. I would recommend this series to anyone.

Goodreads Summary:

Perception is everything to sixteen-year-old Olivia Brown. With her freakishly hot boyfriend, volunteer work at the local animal shelter, successful beauty channel on YouTube, and well-earned spot on X Factor Cheer’s elite level five Diamond Girl team, Livvie’s the girl every other girl wants to be. At least, that’s the illusion she’s aiming for.

But Livvie’s seemingly perfect life is anything but. Lying about the bruises her boyfriend gives her, and cowering beneath his raging temper becomes a regular way of life until she unwittingly witnesses her drunken neighbor beating his step-son, the town bad boy, Reid Tate.

For Reid, vulnerability is the enemy. Opening up, and letting people in gives them the power to disappoint. Growing up with a co-dependent mother and an abusive alcoholic father, Reid has endured all the disappointment he can stomach.

But when his pretty, do-good neighbor witnesses his step-dad beat him to within an inch of his life, and not only call the cops, but keeps quiet at school about what she saw, Reid wonders if maybe, just maybe, he’s found someone he can finally trust.

Review:

Oh my goodness!! Elisa Dane does it again. This book is a HUGE five out of five stars. I don’t know how she does it but she makes reading about the big tough issues that people go through so enjoyable to read. Liv is such a good character. I love how she developed over the course of the story but also that she always knew who she was. Even when she was going through everything with J.P. she always knew deep down that something wasn’t right and that she wasn’t being herself. Reid, a guy that has gone through so much in his life is a really nice surprise. I think that he develops more so than Liv does as the story goes along. Elisa just does such a great job keeping the reader hooked and connected with the characters throughout the whole story.

Goodreads Summary:

Nevaeh Evan’s life is uprooted after her father’s death, when she moves in with her aunt and cousin, Livvie. Her plan to lay low at her new high school isn’t working. Her friend’s jerky boyfriend keeps asking her out, the guy she likes treats her like garbage, and the thought of tumbling again makes her want to hurl.

So when her aunt pushes her into joining the elite X-FACTOR cheer leading squad, Nevaeh goes along with it.

But Nev feels she doesn’t deserve to be happy. Not after what happened the night her father died.

Bodie Scott knows about grief all too well. Critically injured in an alcohol related accident the year before, Bodie struggles with the fact that he’ll never play football again, and he’s so far behind in credits he can’t see straight. That is, until he meets Nev. Haunted by their bloody pasts and wary of a shared future, Nev and Bodie turn to one another for comfort and support, and realize they’re not so alone after all. And when the party scene at school threatens the life of a loved one, the two stop at nothing to keep the past from repeating itself.

Review:

I have to give this book a five out of five. It was amazing and powerful. I love that every book I have read by Elisa has a major problem that is affecting people in the world today as the base of the story. This story really hit me. I was able to connect with the main character Nev a lot. I just wanted to giver her a giant hug through the whole story. I was so happy when she and Bodie finally got together and shared their stories. It helped them both out so much and it was so nice to see them really connect in a way that I don’t think they would have had they not gone through so much pain. It is a really moving story that I think can teach the people that read it why it is so bad to drink and drive.

“Ah ha!” I yanked the agenda from my bag and waved it in front of her face like a mad woman. Covered in neon pink and yellow highlighter, the damn thing sported a full  on color-coded map and answer key. “I think I’ll manage.” I raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Got a little happy with the marker pens yesterday, didn’t ya?”

“Fine”, I responded calmly. “You’re fired.” Coddly laughed, looking at the other gentlemen at the table. “You can’t fire me, Your Highness.” I tilted  my head, staring at him. “I assure you, I can. There’s no one here who outranks me at the moment, and you are easily replaceable.”

Goodreads Summary:

Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she’d put off marriage for as long as possible.

But a princess’s life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can’t escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.

Eadlyn doesn’t expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn’s heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she’s always thought.

Review:

I can’t believe I waited so long to read this series. It is so good and this book does not disappoint. It’s going to be another five out of five for the Selection series. I think that this book might be one of my favorites in the series. I loved reading from the perspective of America and Maxon’s eldest child and heir to the throne Eadlyn. You can see so much of each of her parents in her but she is still herself. When she starts going through her selection you can tell that she doesn’t want to open up to any of the boys but she slowly starts to open up and even though she has a hard time she does start to really try and get to know them. This book also does not lack any of the excitement the last three had. It adds to it nicely with continuing the story. I can’t wait to read the last book and find out who she chooses or if she chooses. I have a couple favorites that I’m routing for.

Total Number of Pages: 323

Start Date: January 2nd, 2017

Goodreads Summary:

The time has come for one winner to be crowned.

When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon’s heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.

Review:

Oh my goodness where do I begin. It’s another five out of five for Kiera Cass and The Selection series This series is AMAZING! It just keeps getting better and better. This third book was so action packed I just couldn’t put it down. America continued to stand up for what she feels is right. The Northern rebels want to pledge their allegiance to Maxon when he eventually becomes king. When I read the previous book I got a funny feeling that America’s dad was up to something on his visit and man was I right. I like that about these books. You can slightly predict what a character might be up to or if they might be hiding something, but you aren’t one hundred percent sure until it just comes out of nowhere. There was just so much  what happened in  this book. I don’t want to give it all away. I can’t wait to read the next two and see where the story goes.
