Goodreads Summary:

High school senior, Claire Reilly’s world revolves around All-Star cheerleading. The Diamond Girls, are gearing up for a major competition, which, if they win will allow them to compete at Worlds for the first time. But the unimaginable happens, and both Claire and her team are rocked by a devastating loss. Determined to get to Worlds any way she can, Claire finds help from the last person she imagined would give it—up and coming UFC fighter and notorious bad boy, Ryker Vaughn.

Fouled out of the octagon by a dirty opponent and a vicious kick to the head, Ryker loses control when he learns he may never fight again. Angry over the loss of his mother, an unsupportive family, and the world in general, he gives up, gives in, and unleashes his rage—destroying part of his cousin’s cheer gym in the process. Things go from bad to worse when Ryker is given an ultimatum: help the Diamond Girls compete for a bid to Worlds, or go to jail.

Overwhelmed with anger, sadness, and grief, the unlikely pair learn that what you see is not always what you get, and that the most difficult losses sometimes open the door to a frightening, yet amazing new future.

Review:

Elisa Dane has done it again with the third and final book of the Crushed series. She has the characters in this story evolving a great amount and even the main character Claire develops the most since she is mentioned in all three books of the series. This series is a great read and it’s nice that each book is in the point of view of a different character. The characters have to go through so much in this story and find their way. They learned to deal with loss and how to move forward. Elisa writes so beautifully about life changing events that are hard to read or talk about. I give this book and five out of five.

They may be right.

With everything and everyone conspiring to keep them apart, Ella and Reed must find a way to beat the law, save their families, and unravel all the secrets in their Twisted Palace.

Review:

Oh my word what a way to end a series. This last book does not disappoint! I could not get enough. I had me wanting more at every turn. Everything that the Royals and Ella went through all lead up to everything that goes down in this book. I don’t want to reveal anything that gives all the craziness away. Ella is so strong and amazing. I know that I said this in the last two reviews but her character just keeps amazing me around every turn. Reed really surprises me with how much he changes throughout the books. I mean he starts as a real mean person and then you start to see the reasons why he acts the way he does. I just can’t get over how much I ended up liking these books. I give this book a huge five out of five stars.

Goodreads Summary:

These Royals will ruin you…

From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.

Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.

What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.

Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.

She might be right.

Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.

Review:

This book I think was better than the first. It didn’t seem to repeat things as the story progressed. I was hooked right from the beginning and around every turn. Ella continues to amaze me with how strong she is and how she handles what is thrown at her. I love that she starts to stand up for people who would not stand up for themselves and takes down the bullies. Reed surprised me in this book with how much he seemed to change for the better just for Ella. The twists that the author throws in to are crazy but they fit with the story and don’t seem to be just added in for the heck of it. I am giving this book a five out of five. I can’t wait to finish the next book and find out what happens!

Goodreads Summary:

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

Review:

What to say, what to say. I was so surprised by this book. It wasn’t at all what I expected it to be. Ella is such a strong character. She is a survivor and knows how to take care of herself. I can’t blame her though. She had to take care of herself and when you’re young that can be very difficult. There were times where I thought that she was being childish in a way but then I would think about it and realize she never got the chance to be a kid one hundred percent. I do believe that Callum really does care about her and want to take care of her and give her the life that she has always wanted but there is a small part of my brain that thinks he might have alternative motives with bring her to his house. His sons definitely don’t help that either. They are all very aggressive and not like any other characters from other books that I have read. Its like they all have their secrets. I did love this book but I am giving it a four out of five because there were times while reading that I felt like it was a repeat of something from earlier in the book.

Goodreads Summary:

When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illéa to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone.

Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairytale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible—and more important—than she ever imagined.

Review:

This book is another five out of five stars. This series as a whole was so good. I wish I had read them sooner. I love that the first three books were about her parents and how they fell in love and then the last two are about Eadlyn and how she goes about her own selection. Eadlyn reminds me of her mother a lot. She is a very stubborn person but  she is very passionate about her people and wanting to be the best she can be for them. All of the characters are amazing and well developed. They are all really well rounded and they surprise you at every turn. I would recommend this series to anyone.

Goodreads Summary:

Perception is everything to sixteen-year-old Olivia Brown. With her freakishly hot boyfriend, volunteer work at the local animal shelter, successful beauty channel on YouTube, and well-earned spot on X Factor Cheer’s elite level five Diamond Girl team, Livvie’s the girl every other girl wants to be. At least, that’s the illusion she’s aiming for.

But Livvie’s seemingly perfect life is anything but. Lying about the bruises her boyfriend gives her, and cowering beneath his raging temper becomes a regular way of life until she unwittingly witnesses her drunken neighbor beating his step-son, the town bad boy, Reid Tate.

For Reid, vulnerability is the enemy. Opening up, and letting people in gives them the power to disappoint. Growing up with a co-dependent mother and an abusive alcoholic father, Reid has endured all the disappointment he can stomach.

But when his pretty, do-good neighbor witnesses his step-dad beat him to within an inch of his life, and not only call the cops, but keeps quiet at school about what she saw, Reid wonders if maybe, just maybe, he’s found someone he can finally trust.

Review:

Oh my goodness!! Elisa Dane does it again. This book is a HUGE five out of five stars. I don’t know how she does it but she makes reading about the big tough issues that people go through so enjoyable to read. Liv is such a good character. I love how she developed over the course of the story but also that she always knew who she was. Even when she was going through everything with J.P. she always knew deep down that something wasn’t right and that she wasn’t being herself. Reid, a guy that has gone through so much in his life is a really nice surprise. I think that he develops more so than Liv does as the story goes along. Elisa just does such a great job keeping the reader hooked and connected with the characters throughout the whole story.

That is, until he meets Nev. Haunted by their bloody pasts and wary of a shared future, Nev and Bodie turn to one another for comfort and support, and realize they’re not so alone after all. And when the party scene at school threatens the life of a loved one, the two stop at nothing to keep the past from repeating itself.

Review:

I have to give this book a five out of five. It was amazing and powerful. I love that every book I have read by Elisa has a major problem that is affecting people in the world today as the base of the story. This story really hit me. I was able to connect with the main character Nev a lot. I just wanted to giver her a giant hug through the whole story. I was so happy when she and Bodie finally got together and shared their stories. It helped them both out so much and it was so nice to see them really connect in a way that I don’t think they would have had they not gone through so much pain. It is a really moving story that I think can teach the people that read it why it is so bad to drink and drive.
